What is the first thing you do when you board the plane for New York City? I send a text message to arrange my first dinner in New York City.
What is your best recollection of New York City? My first stay at 16 and never wanting to leave again.
What excites you about New York City? The seaside weather, the light, and the bright blue that peaks out in between the sky that separates the buildings.
What annoys you about New York City? Reserved restaurant tables that are never free before an hour.
What is the difference between the Parisian and the New Yorker in you? Parisian reason, New Yorker daring.
What is your New York City support system? Europeans who became New Yorkers.
Who are the paryorkers that you know? I know plenty of them. For example, gallery-owner Jérôme de Noirmont, who is Jeff Koons’s dealer, and who has been talking to me about setting up shop in NYC every week for 20 years. His gallery is still at avenue Matignon in Paris.
What is the best time of day for you in New York City? The end of the night at the Meat Packing District and its diner.
Do you have a ritual that is intimately related to the city? Having lunch at Bilboquet.
What is your New York City dream? Having a house in the Hamptons.
